Tramspread adds shorter single-axle Contractor slurry trailer

At more than 2m shorter than its twin-axle sibling, the compact single-axle version of Tramspread’s Contractor Trailer umbilical slurry setup should appeal to operators in areas where yard and field access tends to be tight.

The newcomer carries much the same kit as its big brother, except for transporting a single hose reel rather than two; the 1,000m spool is loaded into its cradle from the front and secured with pins, so no straps are needed.

Other equipment includes a 175hp or 238hp six-cylinder FPT engine, Bauer, Doda or Cri-Man pump, compressors of 140 or 180cfm output, and optional GSM or radio-type remote control systems with associated features.

Locating the 900-litre fuel tank beneath the engine and pump has saved space on the deck, but suction and delivery hose connections remain at a low level for easy access.

The trailer runs on a 50kph-rated sprung axle with air-operated brakes and 435/50 R19.5 tyres, and the drawbar is configured so that a tractor carrying a dribble bar on its three-point linkage can move the entire package single-handed.

Options include a suction hose transport kit, a sponge ball launcher to evacuate the slurry hose prior to reeling, and a 360deg monitoring camera installation, which is also new for the twin-axle version.
