Agritechnica 2025: Merlo HyperCompact punches above weight
© MAG/Oliver Mark Thanks to some cunning packaging, Merlo’s concept TF15.5 telehandler promises to be both small and mighty.
Measuring just 1.56m wide, 1.8m tall and 3m long this “hypercompact” model can slot into small buildings, poultry sheds and pig units.

Yet it’s light enough to be towed behind a pickup or 4×4, allowing easy shunting between sites.
The exact weight is to be confirmed, as engineers are still conjuring up ways to save a few more pounds, but it will be considerably less than 3t.
It doesn’t disappoint on the lifting front either, with a 5m boom, 1.5t capacity and the option of fitting both compact and regular headstocks.
Nestling under the side-mounted hood is a 36hp, three-cylinder Yanmar engine that serves 36hp to both the single-speed hydrostatic transmission and hydraulic systems.
The launch of production-ready models is scheduled for January 2027.
