Cereals 2026: John Deere 6M tractor and 500R sprayer updated
John Deere 6M 220 © MAG/Oliver Mark Cab size is now the only real differentiator between John Deere’s 6R and 6M series tractors, thanks to a handful of new optional extras on the latter.
These include a compact version of the firm’s CommandArm multi-function armrest with 10.1in G5 display and an integrated CommandX Plus joystick.

This comes with six assignable buttons and controls for two spool valves, cruise speeds and any isobus-linked attachments.
As a result, Deere says it will be easier to integrate cheaper 6Ms into R-dominated fleets. However, get trigger happy with the options list and the prices of the two can close to within £10,000.
Six-cylinder models will also be available with the E19 full powershift transmission – a slicker, dual-clutch alternative to the popular AutoQuad.
560R joins new self-propelled sprayer range
M-series sprayers haven’t proved such a hit, with production of the Mazzotti-built machines halted and the firm instead focusing on its new 500R self-propelleds.
These have been given several updates since their launch last year, including the introduction of a 6,000-litre 560R version.
This slots in above the initial 4,000- and 5,000-litre offerings, and all three come with a new steel boom available in widths of up to 42m.
It is lighter, opens and closes quicker, and can be had with tighter 25cm nozzle spacings.

Also new is the option of six-turret nozzle bodies – the previous limit was four – and Deere’s BoomTrac Pro 2 height control system. There are five ultrasonic sensors on the 30m boom and seven for 36m and 42m.
Meanwhile, active yaw and roll control counteract chassis movements, allowing for an increase in maximum working speed from 25kph to 30kph, and greaseless pivot points come as standard.
Owners can retrofit a centralised lubrication system for the rest of the machine, but this isn’t currently available from factory.
The first 500R machines will be landing with UK customers imminently.
