Wireless camera helps deter thieves in remote areas

Farm security specialist Luda has developed a mobile camera that can be mounted in areas with no electricity to help keep tabs on valuable possessions.

The Farmcam Mobility only requires a decent 3G or 4G signal, as the rechargeable battery can last up to two months on a single charge. A 16GB SD-card records any motion, which can be viewed through the Farmcam app.

Should movement be detected, an in-built alarm sounds to discourage unwanted visitors, while a microphone and speaker allows the user to listen and talk to the intruder.

Cleverly, the camera can tell between warm and cold objects, so moving leaves and trees won’t use unnecessary storage and data.

The waterproof camera can be mounted anywhere within network coverage and is compatible with the firm’s other products. It is available through the Luda website for €349 (£305).
