BIDDING at the sale of the milking portion of the Rossett herd of Holstein Friesians reached 5200gns.

And the offering for Mr and Mrs Edgar Jones at Wrexham last week saw an average of £1693 for 90 females.

Top call came from Richard and Ginny Mayall, Shrewsbury, to secure Rossett Prelude Top Minnie, an Aug 1994-bred entry out of a Donfield Topper dam.

Hubert Tinkler and Son, Ilkley, West Yorks, claimed Comestar Laurina Astre, a January-calved heifer that had already produced a flush of embryos to Shoremar Mason, for £4500.n
