Air ambulance scrambled to serious farm machinery accident

A man has suffered a serious leg injury in an accident involving machinery on a farm in Cambridgeshire.

On Wednesday 20 September a team of paramedics from Magpas Air Ambulance were scrambled to the scene of the accident south of Papworth Everard in Cambridgeshire.

The medics provided emergency care to the man, aged in his 20s, at the scene.

They gave him pain relief and treated him for his injuries at the scene, before he was taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

The man was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival. His condition was unknown on Monday (25 September).

Agriculture remains statistically the most dangerous industry in the UK.

Thousands of people are seriously injured in farm accidents every year, but the level of under-reporting remains high.
