Spectacular yellow rust on untreated winter wheat trials at pbi Cambridge highlights big differences between varieties. It is proving especially useful in distinguishing differences in resistance between varieties with similar NIAB ratings, he says. Riband and Rialto for example both merit a five on the one to nine NIAB scale, but the latter is displaying far fewer symptoms.
