Designed to fit the northern requirement for grain and fertiliser drills, Amazones Airstar Duo combines a front-mounted 1,500 or 1,800 litre fertiliser hopper with an AD or RPD drill unit with power harrow and following harrow. Without the front unit, the drill adapts to a grain only option when autumn seeding. The 3m version starts at £9,040; the 4m from £9,180. Three models in the 160-200hp bracket boost the Deutz-Fahr Agrotron range this autumn – although they are unlikely to reach UK buyers until early next year. They will feature the nine-speed powershift, three-range transmission featured on other Same group tractors, but coupled with Deutz liquid cooled engines. With a spring-tined cultivator and drill combination, the Rau Startiller provides an alternative to the power harrow. Or, as a replacement for the standard pipe roller on the Polymag cultivator, its said to enhance straw incorporation and improve reconsolidation to stimulate weed and volunteer germination and minimise moisture loss.
