GOINGTOTHESHOW?

SIMA – Frances prestigious biennial agricultural show takes place at the Paris Nord Exhibition Centre on 18-22 Feb.

Reputed to be one of Europes largest events, the show is held in no less than seven halls (there is a new one this year) which offer a total area of 220,000sq m. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Along with a comprehensive array of machinery – more than a few manufacturers will be using the event to launch new models – this years show also has a major input for the livestock sector.

Centred in Hall 3, independent breeders will be exhibiting their wares to the tune of over 420 animals. There is also to be an extensive display of equipment for livestock farmers located in Halls 2 and 3.

And Sima 2001 does not neglect the interests of other allied industries with forestry equipment getting its share of exhibits – both in the latest machinery available and advice on the techniques currently in vogue.

Precision agricultural systems also feature significantly – an area which has seen dynamic growth in the development of the technology – if not in its actual acceptance by farmers. As yet.

In short, Sima 2001 adds up to an exciting event which should appeal to UK farmers – whatever their enterprises.
