Dummy nematicide granules are on offer to help potato growers check the calibration of their application equipment ahead of the season. Discrepancies of 100-300% in the accuracy of farm equipment have been found during spot-checks by members of the Agricultural Engineers Association. The dummy granules, which are available free to distributors and machinery specialists, flow like Nemathorin, but lack the active ingredient, so operators can make repeat checks on machines, says Ben Miles of Nemathorin maker Syngenta.
