HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN: The Lancashire club sale at Lancaster drew two 3000gns bids. Bull champion, Joylan Typesetter, a Rotate Jed son from Joylan Farms, went to R Reid, Lockerbie, while David Tomlinsons reserve female champion, Bilsrow Hokes Fleury, made the same to D E and M E Booth, Colne, Lancs. Averages: five cows £1243, 33 heifers £1137 and 13 bulls £1512. (Norton and Brooks-bank with Lancaster Auction Mart.)

CHAROLAIS: Ovill Marmaduke, a Criffel Golddust son from OKane Bros, Dungiven realised 7000gns to top the trade at the Northern Ireland breed clubs fixture at Portadown. Buyer was Gerald Porter, Co Londonderry. (Automart.)

JERSEY: A heifer by Meadowlawn J S Imperial sold for 660gns when Mr and Mrs William Pratt dispersed their Lickhill herd at Holsworthy, Devon. This December calver was giving 16.2kg and was bought by T Gary, Bridport. (Stags.)
