BFSS questions "cruelty" evidence
A REPORT commissioned by the British Field Sports Society says scientific evidence that deer hunting with hounds is cruel is not conclusive and does not justify the National Trust banning the sport.
The report was published by Lord Soulsby, an emeritus professor of animal pathology, at Cambridge University.
It comes as the government considers following the trusts example by banning deer hunts from Forestry Commission land.
