Even density bale with Krone

Big Pack

KRONE took advantage of the event to put one of its new six-model Big Pack VFS balers through its paces.

Replacing the Big Pack machines, the balers feature a new pre-charger system which achieves even bale density in all crops, says Krone.

During bale formation, a pre-chamber with a pressure plate is fed with crop from feeder rake fingers.

When the chamber is full, the weight of the crop acting against the pressure plate trips a cam which locks the packer fingers.

This, says Krone, forces a wad of material up into the bale chamber where the bale plunger compresses it to form the bale.

Also creating interest was Krones Combi Pack 1500V variable chamber round baler wrapper combination.

Based on the fixed chamber 1250, the 1500V is designed to produce and wrap bales from 1m to 1.5m in diameter. Price of the 1500V is £37,500.

&#8226 Conspicuous by its absence, Krones Big X self-propelled forager was not at the event due to availability problems. The company aims to have machines harvesting maize in the UK this autumn. &#42
