Farmers devastated after sheep’s ears sliced off

A Welsh farming family has been left devastated after one of their sheep had its ears sliced off and body slashed in a savage attack.
Young farmer Alwyn Huxley discovered the three-year-old Texel-cross ewe with blood pouring from its head on 9 July.
The attack took place in a 6ha field on a farm in Llanfair Caereinion, near Welshpool.

The farmers believe the sheep had its head forced back and both its ears cut off with a sharp object.
The sheep has received medical treatment and is now back on the farm.
Facebook post shared 3,400 times
The family posted graphic photos of the mutilated sheep on Facebook and appealed for help from the public to catch the offenders. The post has been shared more than 3,400 times.
“It’s just heartbreaking to see how someone can be so cruel,” said Mr Huxley.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they received a report of the attack. The force has appealed to anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 468 of 90 July.
