Rural police issue Easter crime reminder

Police are reminding farmers and landowners to be vigilant about the possibility of illegal raves on their property over the Easter weekend.
Farmers are encouraged to take measures to prevent access to their land, such as keeping gates secure and entrance ways to fields blocked.
Barns and other outbuildings should also be kept secure.
Northamptonshire Police said its officers were determined to maintain their robust approach to illegal raves, encouraging rural communities to help prevent illegal events from starting.
PC Claire Salmon, from Northamptonshire’s Rural Crime Team, said: “As always, we encourage people to report any suspicious circumstances to us on 101.
“We want to hear from you if you notice cars driving slowly and appearing to be looking at fields, outbuildings and barns, or if you spot any potential markings at locations, such as paint marks on the road surface or ribbons on gates and in hedges.
“If you notice a number of vehicles arriving at a location and suspect a rave may be starting, please call 999 immediately.”
Alternatively, information about potential raves can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
