Daniels doubles profit

FOOD manufacturer and distributor S Daniels more than doubled its 1998 pre-tax profits to £5.9 million, against £2.4m last time.

The group includes the New Covent Garden Soup Company, Eurogran and Big T in its list of operations.

The group has also announced that it has bought All Square Foods and Bilash Foods for a total consideration of £4.4m.
