Dudes raft away to victory…

Young farmers from three east Devon clubs gathered at Whitford to compete in Yarcombe and district YFCs charity raft race to raise money for the RNLI. They relished the opportunity to get wet and raise some cash for a good cause and a total of 11 teams bravely took to the Axe, setting out from Whitford at midday. The winners, the "Surfing Dudes" (pictured) of Axminster YFC arrived at Axmouth in only 1hour 35 minutes. The last team to complete the paddle finally made it home and dry at 3pm. Sadly the Culm Valley "Naughty Boys" couldnt stay the distance and were finally picked up around 4pm!
