Duke heads up Countryside Alliance

THE Countryside Alliance — the lobby group responsible for the massive Countryside March in London several weeks ago — has appointed Edward Duke, 53, as its new chief executive.

He will succeed Robin Hanbury-Tenison, who retires on May 1. Duke is chief executive of Beauford, an engineering ceramics company. He hunts with the Bramham Moor hunt, based new Wetherby, and stalks deer in Scotland.
