Facelift for Grimme spud planter
Facelift for Grimme spud planter
GRIMME has given its two-row GL32B potato planter a facelift to achieve a model with, it says, better build quality and higher specification.
The planter now sports a beefier mainframe mounted outside rather than inside the planting elements. This enables row widths from 75cm to 92cm (30in to 36 in) to be adjusted more easily, says Grimme.
To allow improved sowing accuracy on slopes and curved fields, the planter can be specified with a hydraulically operated steerable axle which provides a 5í turning angle. Drive to the cup belts, from this axle, is via a shaft.
At the rear of the machine, row-shaping boards are now hydraulically controlled to enable float and a constant planting depth for different soil types.
Requiring 110hp plus to operate, the GL32B can also be armed with a hydraulic depth control system. *
