ABOUT 130 acres of land subject to full agricultural tenancies in Wales sold at auction recently for prices often exceeding the pre-auction guides.
Lletty Fwlbert, Garnswllt, Ammanford, near Swansea included 37 acres of pasture, a farmhouse and a range of outbuildings. With a current rental of £1550/year it was knocked down at £28,000.
Bolgoed Uchaf Farm, Pontardulais, Swansea achieved £81,000 (£2870/acre) for a derelict farmhouse, a range of outbuildings and 28 acres of pasture with access onto the A48. The annual rental was £1100.
Other prices for the total of six lots included £10,000 for 22 acres of accommodation land with a semi-derelict stone outbuilding. The £130/year rental was subject to review. An 18 acre block of pasture near Swansea with extensive road frontage was knocked down at £3001/acre.
Achieving an aggregate price of £231,000, the auctioneers were Rees, Richards & Partners and Edward * Perkins.
