Final chance to apply for Nuffield scholarship

The deadline to apply for a Nuffield Farming Scholarship is fast approaching, with the window closing next Wednesday (31 July).

The scholarship offers individuals the opportunity to explore a topic of their choice through international travel, while developing their leadership skills and creating positive change in UK agriculture.

It is open to those aged 25 to 45 working in or closely associated with farming, food, horticulture and rural industries, and is fully funded.

Participants get the opportunity to connect with global leaders, conduct in-depth research, and return with insights that can shape the future of their sectors.

At its core, a Nuffield Scholarship is about global learning, from farms and research centres to unexpected experiences.

“I’d encourage anyone even half-thinking about applying for a Nuffield Scholarship to just go for it,” said Dan Jones, 2024 scholar and North Wales sheep farmer.

“You’ll learn, you’ll laugh, and at some point you might end up on a horse in Tierra del Fuego wondering how on earth you got there. And honestly, that’s the whole point,” he added.

Those thinking of applying don’t need any academic qualifications – just a compelling topic and the drive to lead change.
