FORM D restrictions have been lifted on a total of 373 farms in Northumberland removing many of the restrictions on animal and vehicle movements.
DEFRA revealed on Wednesday (Nov 7) that inspections and tests had found no evidence of F&M on 182 farms in Allendale, 153 in Haydon Bridge and 38 around Huntstanworth, near County Durham. It follows the lifting of infected area status from most of County Durham on Tuesday.
As FW went to Press farmers looking for blue box restrictions around Allendale to be lifted were still waiting for test results on a sheep in the Whitley Chapel area. A DEFRA spokesman confirmed the animal had tested positively for antibodies but officials were waiting for the results of further tests to come back from the laboratory. *
