Government eases sheep exports to France
THE Government has moved to allay the worries of sheep farmers by easing regulations governing exports to France from 19 October.
Farmers will be allowed to sell the carcasses of sheep over one year old without having to remove their spinal cords. The cords will be removed in French abattoirs.
The Ministry of Agriculture denied the move was a “knee-jerk reaction” to farmers protests.
