GRAIN assurance company Genesis claims to have had an overwhelming response from growers since it was accepted by the UKASTA feed assurance scheme last month.
"This is excellent news and farmers are delighted to have a choice," says Genesis project manager Jane Johnson.
"Many growers have decided that they should be assured, and now Genesis has been accepted by UKASTA and NABIM they have an alternative to the Assured Combinable Crops Scheme. We are receiving about 40-50 calls a day."
But Genesis is still waiting to hear if it will be able to use the red tractor logo. "We applied in October and we are hopeful that it will be accepted, having already been approved by the two leading industry bodies within the field." *
