Hackers hit BSE Inquiry site

By FWi staff

COMPUTER hackers have daubed obscenities on the BSE inquiry website, reports the Ananova news site.

The cyber-vandals targeted the BSE site and several local council websites, and left messages complaining they contained no pornography or free music files.

Security on the sites will now be stepped up to prevent a repeat of the defacements, which were revealed by US Internet security firm Attrition.org.

The hackers, calling themselves the Pentaguard group, have previously targeted NASA and government and military targets, reports Ananova.

A Ministry of Agriculture spokeswoman said no site is hack-proof, but was unsure why their pages were targeted.
