&#8226 AMC Bank has cut the rate on its high interest cheque account by 0.5% to 6.25%. This is a quarter of a point less than the recent overall reduction in base rates, leaving the account some 0.25% ahead of its nearest rival, says the company.

AMC recently dropped its variable mortgage rate to 8.65%, and announced it was no longer announcing fixed rates.
