IN BRIEF

&#8226 UNIROYALs horticultural crop protection products are to be distributed in the UK by Hortichem, following a deal between Hortichems parent company Mitsui and Uniroyal in the US. The deal does not cover cereal seed treatment Anchor (carboxin + thiram), but does includes a new grassweed killer, which will be marketed once approved.

&#8226 BLIGHT killer Electis (zoxium + mancozeb) is now permitted for use on potatoes being grown in 2001 for supermarket Tesco, says marketing agent Interfarm.

&#8226 DITHANE, the mancozeb-based protectant blight fungicide, has a new higher dose rate for use in potatoes. When the risk of blight is high and spray intervals are shortened Dithane NT can be used at 2kg/ha, says marketing agent Interfarm. The standard 1.7kg/ha rate remains for normal circumstances. &#42
