&#8226 THERE was a patchy trade for Scottish Blackface rams when 463 were offered in a "live" sale at Perth this week. United Auctions said the 21-day movement restrictions were responsible for buyers hesitancy. Top call was £500 for a shearling from Kettelshiel Partnership selling to T Elliott, Galashiels. Other leading bids saw shearlings twice change hands at £450.

&#8226 THE North East Simmental Cattle Club has launched a new web-site (www.simmental.org.uk). Users wishing to look at a directory of all the cattle the club has for sale should navigate their way to the north-east members area.
