Lord Archer launches ‘milk manifesto’

By FWi staff

FREE-SCHOOL milk was on the menu today as Lord Archer formally unveiled plans to give every London primary school pupil a bottle of milk a day.

Launching his manifesto to become Londons first elected mayor, Lord Archer said he would re-introduce free milk to Londons schools if he was elected.

“Medical experts have long argued for the return of free school milk, and I back that 100%,” said Lord Archer.

“In fact, I believe we should go one better: a muesli bar and a choice of milk or juice.

“I would introduce a scheme to distribute these daily to all children in London primary schools.”

The cost of the scheme – about £30 million – would be met in full or in part through sponsorship, said Lord Archer.
