A TOWERING landmark has appeared on the east Yorkshire sky-line at Waxholme, near Withernsea.
The huge "M", made of 22 high density bales was erected by local Young Farmers Club members to mark the path of a Millennium year celebratory walk.
The 169-mile walk traces the path of the Meridian line as it passes across the British mainland and the M appears on the first overland stretch of the line between Tunstall, East Yorks, and Sunk Island on the Humber Estuary. Walk organiser, John Davis, said: "Twenty farms have given permission for walkers to cross their land even though the route does not follow public rights of way." *
Straw Henge… "M" marks the spot where a Millennium walk passes through a straw stack on this Yorkshire farm, tracing the path of the meridian line.
