Man who runs the islands creameries

JOHN Lindon is operations manager at the Isle of Man Milk Marketing Assoc-iations creameries which receive milk from the islands 97 producers, a total of 34m litres a year and about 135,000 litres a day at the peak period.

Besides supplying the islands 22 milk rounds with a full range of milks, the creamery produces yogurts and butter, but most of the milk goes into cheese production and 93% of this is exported to the UK where its products have won awards this summer.

The Abbeylands cheese was placed at Nantwich Inter-national Cheese Show and the Manx smoked cheese took a first prize at the Bakewell Show.

Visitors to the creamerys marquee were able to see the wide range of dairy products available and sample some of the cheeses.

Say it with cheese: A boxed gift set of cheeses is among the range of goods produced at the creamery, says operations manager John Lindon.
