New charging system for the wool board
THE British Wool Marketing Board is introducing a new system for charging the cost of transport.
From the start of the 1999 season, charges will be based simply on weight, whether the wool is uplifted from the farm or from a collection point organised by a group of farmers.
All pick-ups weighing more than 20,000kg will be charged 4.25p/kg and loads under 2000kg will be charged at 2.75p.
