NFU Mutual increases NFU support

THE NFU Mutual has announced it is increasing its annual contribution to the UKs national farmers unions to support them through the farm crisis.

The insurance company has pledged that in 2000 and 2001 it will give an extra 500,000 which will be divided up between farm unions.

The beneficiaries will be the National Farmers Union of England and Wales, the National Farmers Union of Scotland, and the Ulster Farmers Union.

The money comes on top of its regular 3m a year donation and an estimated 30m the NFU Mutual pays annually for staff and the costs of local NFU offices.
