Nipple drinker that will clean itself…

TO help nipple drinking systems in pig and poultry houses run well, the Suffolk-based Rainbow Valve Company has introduced a self-flushing water filter.

With a brass housing and stainless steel filter, the unit cleans itself by means of a back rinse sequence which is operated by turning a tap fitted on to the drainage outlet.

Rainbow stresses that clear water is particularly important where it is delivered to pigs and poultry through nipple drinkers; dirt can prevent the nipple working properly causing water leakage.

The filter is available to fit 2-2.5cm (0.75-1in) piping. Cost is £69.83 plus VAT (01359-250238, fax

01359-250613).
