Open days will benefit NSPCC

OPEN days on more than 100 farms in England and Wales this spring will be used to raise funds for one of the UKs leading childrens charities.

The NFU has linked up with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), and visitors to the farm open days will be invited to make a donation to the charity. There will also be fund-raising events held at the farms as part of the unions Welcome to the Countryside campaign.

"The NFU is delighted to join forces with the NSPCC in the spring farm open days initiative, which will offer visitors the chance to spend an enjoyable and exciting day out in the country, while also raising donations to further the NSPCCs important work," said union president Sir David Naish.

The official launch will take place at next weeks NFU annual meeting in London.
