Ozzy Osbourne’s family visits giant pumpkin tribute

The family of the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has made a surprise visit to a striking pumpkin mural honouring him at Sunnyfields Farm in Totton, Hampshire.

The artwork, created from more than 10,000 pumpkins and squashes, has been on display since 4 October.

Sharon, Jack and Kelly Osbourne delighted visitors as they viewed the enormous mural, which pays tribute to the Black Sabbath frontman who died on 22 July after battling Parkinson’s disease.

Farm owners gave the family a tour before accompanying Sharon and Jack in a cherry picker to see the mural from above.

A spokesman at Sunnyfields farm said: “A close friend of the family for 40 years reached out saying that Sharon wanted to thank us personally for the tribute.

“It was wonderful that the whole family also came, including Jack, Kelly and Sid Wilson. We weren’t sure if they just wanted to see the mural and go, though they stayed for over an hour and wandered around the whole event.

“It was all very relaxed, and it was nice to see them have a nice family time, like all the other families.”

A team of 16 people crafted this year’s artwork in just four and a half hours and has drawn thousands of visitors paying tribute to the heavy metal icon.

The pumpkin display’s theme was chosen by public vote.

Sunnyfields Farm, founded by the Nelson family in 1990, has created a giant pumpkin pyramid for the past decade.

In 2023, the farm entered the record books by creating the world’s largest mosaic made from pumpkins.

The colourful mural will remain on display at the Totton farm until the end of October.
