Pea crop boost

PEA crops still struggling after cold, dry weather checked earlier growth could benefit from a low cost micronutrient fillip, says Dalgety.

Pulse Mix, a dry flowable tonic containing eight trace elements developed in collaboration with Micromix Solutions, helps regulate the abscisic acid hormone which causes pod drop caused by environmental stress, says technical manager Bob Bulmer.

The product is "highly tank-mixable" and costs £2.30/kg. Application rate, depending on the extent of trace element deficiency, is 1.5-4kg/ha.
