Past recipients include former NFU president Minette Batters, Linking Environment and Farming (Leaf) charity founder Caroline Drummond, and farm management export Prof John Nix.
The Princess Royal was presented with the cup for 2026 earlier this month.
Farmers Club chairman Chris Riddle said: “Her connection to farming is not merely ceremonial; it is grounded in real experience and sustained engagement with the people, businesses and organisations that underpin our agricultural industry.”
During a lifetime of public service, the Princess Royal has served as patron of many farming related charities and organisations.
They include the Moredun Foundation, the Royal Northern Agricultural Society and Farms for City Children.
Championing both the science and the people behind agriculture, the Princess Royal has also dedicated her involvement to organisations such as the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs and the Worshipful Company of Farmers.
Mr Riddle said: “I cannot think of anyone who has quietly, but hugely and effectively, done so much for our industry. Nobody deserves it more than the Princess Royal.”
