Royal Welsh Show to continue despite weather, say organisers
Organisers of the Royal Welsh Show have said the event will continue as normal despite rain creating havoc in some of the carparks.
Muddy conditions mean that visitors are queuing for over two hours to get on site.
But chairman of council Alun Evans said that the only concession to the weather they were going to make was holding the opening ceremony indoors.
“There might be problems but I am sure they will be overcome and I’m sure people will understand,” he said.
Some activities might have to be curtailed, but the weather forecast for Tuesday was much brighter, he added.
Mr Evans said he was delighted to welcome EU farm commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel to the event which is scheduled to run for four days.
