SCATS Grain is expanding its grain marketing business into the west of England by merging with West Country Grain.

"WCG felt it was the right way forward for the future of the co-op and cereal marketing in the West Country. By becoming part of a bigger organisation with more presence in the market they will be able to provide a more cost-effective service," claims Tim Pollock, SCATS managing director.

SCATS Grain is the largest farmer-owned grain business in the UK, handling more than 2m tonnes a year. West Country Grain markets over 100,000 tonnes of grain a year.n
