Semen mix aims to boost fertility

WITH over 20% of dairy culls being caused by fertility problems, Genus has launched Fertility Plus, to help increase conception rates.

Fertility Plus is a mixture of semen from three beef breeds in one straw and bulls are all easy calving, top quality and guaranteed to increase fertility, claims the company.

Use of three different beef breeds means calf sire will be easily identified for passport applications.

Conception rates will increase by as much as 9%, exploiting the competition effect of mixing semen from top fertility bulls, claims the company.
