Taarups latest mower offers 9m cutting width
LATEST mower development from Taarup is the 5090 Butterfly mower, which, through three 8-disc sections, has a working width of 9m.
Front-mounted, the 5090 uses mowing heads currently available as solo machines. It also uses the same proven conveyor system to merge swaths into one as used on other Taarup mowers.
The new development is the frame which holds all three cutter heads, complete with conditioning units together so that they can be operated effectively.
A large frame, complete with spring suspension is designed to allow each cutter head to float independently to allow undulating ground contours to be mowed. For transport the two outer wing mowers fold vertically to create a width of about 3m.
The mower can be set to leave three, two or one swath or, if required, spread evenly over the width of the mowers.
The UK could see the 5090 Butterfly mower available this year. Price is £40,000+. *
