US slaps duties on Chile mushrooms

US IMPORTS of preserved mushrooms from Chile face a 149% anti-dumping duty.

The USA has taken the action in the wake of an International Trade Commission ruling that certain types of mushroom were being sold at less than fair value in the US.

The ruling sustained claims that cheap imports had hurt 11 producers in California, Delaware, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

China, India and Indonesia have also had duties imposed on their mushroom exports to the USA.
