Virus spells end for Marque quota agency
By FWi staff
THE Milk Marque quota agency is to cease trading as of 22 June.
The business was put on the market in March, but foot-and-mouth worries within the dairy industry meant no deal could be finalised.
“We had enquiries from several interested parties but after further investigation nobody felt they could make a go of it under the current situation,” said Milk Marques managing director David Jones.
“The quota market is absolutely dead at the moment and the prospects for recovery this year look limited,” he added.
The agencys database remains available.
