Waste-in-water claim over Kent CJD cluster

KENTS domestic water supply could be responsible for a cluster of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in the county, according to new allegations.

Gary Skillet is a former building contractor at Canterbury Mills, near Godmersham, a plant where animal carcasses that may have had bovine spongiform encephalopathy were rendered. He claimed that liquid waste was poured down a well.

The plant and the Environment Agency denied the allegation.
