Welder avoids risk of over heating

LATEST addition to Spaldings range of welding equipment is a 160amp portable arc welder. Designed to run from a 13 amp, 240V supply, the unit can be operated in buildings where a 3-phase supply is not installed.

The welder, says Spaldings, employs a copper wound, fan-cooled transformer enabling operators to use it for long periods without the risk of over heating. Even so, protection is afforded by a thermal overload cutout switch.

Suitable for electrodes up to 3.2mm in diameter and supplied with wheels, the welder costs £155. (01522 500600).
