Welsh Milk quadruples membership

A WELSH milk marketing group has more than quadrupled its original number of members in one year of trading.

Llaeth Cymreig Cyfynedig (Welsh Milk), which started with six producers and a leased second-hand tanker to collect 360,000 litres of milk a month, now boasts 27 producer members and a monthly throughput of 900,000 litres.

First-year turnover was 3.25 million and the group is paying suppliers 20.5ppl.
