Wheat and maize stronger in EU: HGCA

  • EU feed wheat and maize markets were generally around Euro2-Euro4/t higher last week, as strong demand from the feed sector continued.

    French feed wheat values have now closed considerably on milling.

    New-crop French maize prices are around 86/t CIF the east coast of the UK.

  • MANCOM adopts dual export policy

    UNDER the first week of separate tenders for old- and new-crop, 18,000 tonnes of new-crop free-market export licence was granted at zero refund, and old-crop bids were rejected under the main scheme.

    Nearly 150,000 tonnes of German intervention barley was sold at a minimum of Euro101.53/t.

    Meanwhile, 270,000 tonnes of reduced-levy maize imports were granted into Spain.
