WHO ARE REAL CUSTODIANS?

LANDOWNERS will able to hear some key debates about the future of the countryside at this years Game Fair.

Representatives from the NFU, CLA and RSPB will be taking part in a debate entitled, Who are the Real Custodians of the Country-side? (July 25).

Plans are also in the pipeline for a seminar on Guns in the Firing Line, which will look at the possibility of future legislation affecting gun ownership and use. It will also look at whether lead shot should be banned from wetlands through statute or by voluntary agreement.

Other topics under discussion include a debate on the future of fieldsports. All the seminars, which will be held in a special marquee near the members enclosure, are free and open to everyone.

David Hough, Game Fair director, said he believed the event already provided a shop window for country sports and that it should also provide a platform for debate and a chance to give people the opportunity to hear the latest development in the UK and Europe.
