Young Farmers Round-up

GWENT young farmers have been surveying hotels, public houses and other food outlets to discover where they purchase their meat and its country of origin. They discovered that most claimed to serve only British meat but were unsure when asked to prove the fact. Those that could prove they served British beef were given the MLC Proud to serve British beef poster and sticker.

&#8226 Islip YFC, Oxon is preparing to undertake a 30-hour sponsored muck spread to raise money for club funds. It is to begin at Warren Farm Teaching College at 10am on Sat, Mar 7.

&#8226 Rachel Atherton of Ashley YFC is Staffordshire federations YFC member of the year. The junior title holder is Jeffery Tabernor (14) of Stone YFC.

&#8226 Craswall YFC won the Agricultural Valuers Association trophy for the top scoring club at Herefordshire Young Farmers 50th annual hedging match which was held at Marlbrook Farm, near Leominster. Welsh Newton YFC was second and last years winner, Longtown YFC, was third.
